Author's notes: William Ellison is a character who can be treated as bad (evil) or good but maybe misguided, depending on whether you judge him by what Jim says in Brother's Keeper or his reaction to Jim in Remembrances. This story goes with 'Evil' William.
This is a slightly edited version of the second part of a story that was in Come to Your Senses 19, and has not been posted until now. I always felt that the story posted to CTYS was actually two separate stories cobbled together, but it has taken me fifteen years to buckle down and get the two separate stories told - the first being As it Was Meant to Be and this one, Taking the Trip.
